In a separate incident, the BSF on May 10 observed suspicious movement of an individual crossing the international border from Pakistan, heading towards the Amritsar border fence.
Thereafter, the BSF troops challenged and apprehended the intrider near the border fence.
During interrogation it was revealed that the individual did not have any ulterior motive and had unintenionally entered into the Indian territory as he was unware of the alignment of the international border.
The BSF troops did not find any objectionable items in his possession during the search.
In order to address the concern about Pakistan's failure to prevent its citizen from entering into India, India held a flag meeting with the Pak Rangers. Following this, the individual was handed over to Pakistan on humanitarian grounds on May 11.
