Prime Minister Modi will be inaugurating a circuit house near the Somnath temple today. The inauguration will be followed by a virtual address by PM Modi. "At 11 AM tomorrow, 21st January would be inaugurating a new Circuit House at Somnath. It is situated near the Temple and will benefit many pilgrims," PM Modi tweeted.
In other news, the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Congress will meet on Friday at 4 pm through video conferencing for the selection of candidates for the Uttarakhand assembly polls. Both Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi will be inaugurating the Youth Manifesto of the party today for the upcoming UP Election.
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will contest the 2022 Assembly Polls from Karhal constituency in Mainpuri district, the party's national spokesperson Ashutosh Verma said on Thursday.
Notification for the second phase of assembly elections in UP will be issued today, thus nominations can be filed from today. Nominations will be filed till January 28. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on January 29 and withdrawal of nominations can be done till January 31. Voting will be held on February 14 for second phase of UP ELections.
Meanwhile, the weather in Delhi is getting foggy.
"There will be partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain or drizzle towards evening on Friday. There will be shallow fog in the morning," the IMD bulletin said.
Minimum temperatures are also likely to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius over northwest India during the next three to four days.
