‘Blessing Of Lord Bholenath’: California Mens’ Pilgrimage To Amarnath Finds Mention In PM Modi's Mann Ki Baat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation through his monthly radio broadcast, Mann Ki Baat. It was the 103rd edition of the programme. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke about the pilgrimage undertaken by two men from California, US to Amarnath during his monthly radio broadcast Mann Ki Baat. “People from all over the world are coming for darshan now. I came to know about two such American friends who came for Amarnath Yatra from California,” PM Modi remarked, adding that these “foreign guests” decided to undertake the Amarnath Yatra after they “had heard about Swami Vivekananda's experience of the pilgrimage.”

“They were so inspired by it (Swami Vivekananda’s experience) that they too came for the Amarnath Yatra. They consider it as a blessing of Lord Bholenath. This is India's speciality, it embraces everyone and gives something to everyone,” he added.

He spoke on how NDRF, authorities, along with local people put in a united effort during the relief work during these tough times. The PM also noted how people are making an effort to revive the environment by conserving water which is the need of the hour for everyone. PM Modi also highlighted how the change in Haj policy has benefitted many Muslim women in the country.

Recalling a Yoga practitioner he met during his recent France visit, the PM said, "Recently, when I had gone to France, I met Charlotte Chopin who is a Yoga Practitioner, Yoga Teacher, and she is more than 100 years old. She has been practising Yoga for the last 40 years. She credits her health and longevity to Yoga."

PM Modi said, "A few days ago, there was a craze across social media, America has returned us over 100 rare and ancient artefacts. These artefacts returned to India are from 250 to 2500 years old. These rare things belong to different regions of the country. He added, "I would like to thank the US Government for returning this precious heritage to us. Even in 2016 and 2021, when I visited America, many artefacts were returned to India."
