'Makers Of Our Constitution Committed A Mistake': BJP MP Joins 'Bharat' Name Bandwagon

A fresh controversy has erupted after BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav said that the makers of the Indian Constitution 'committed a mistake' by keeping both 'India' and 'Bharat' in the Constitution.

Amid the ongoing debate over 'India' and 'Bharat', Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MP Harnath Singh Yadav has said that makers of the Constitution of India committed a 'mistake' by keeping both words in the Constitution. He said that the Oxford dictionary describes 'India' as poor and uneducated people and the Englishmen knowingly linked people of 'slave' countries with the word 'Ind' or 'India'. Yadav asked how Indonesia and Indiana got their names as there is no 'Sindh' (Indus) River around them.

"Oxford dictionary describes 'India' as poor, uneducated people. The Britishers deliberately linked people of 'slave' countries with the word 'Ind' or 'India'. With all due respect towards the makers of our Constitution, I want to say that they committed a mistake by keeping both 'India' and 'Bharat' words in the Constitution," the BJP MP said.

Reacting to his comments, RJD MP Manoj Jha said the BJP is worried by the opposition's I.N.D.I.A alliance, adding "It appears Harnath Singh is not aware that private members bills cannot be introduced in the upcoming special session of Parliament. Seems he has not seen the notification".

"They are worried by our 'INDIA' alliance, whose tagline is 'judega Bharat, jeetega INDIA'," Jha said.

BJP Hates Dalits, Ambedkar: AAP

AAP MP Sanjay Singh said that the saffron party and RSS hate Dalits in the country and this (India vs Bharat) debate is happening because Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was a Dalit.

"BJP and RSS hate Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and the Dalits of this country. I want to warn BJP and RSS not to play with the Constitution  of India," Singh said.
