Kalna (West Bengal): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday has accused BJP of resorting to lies about Hinduism while also alleging that the union government was not giving funds under the PM-Kisan scheme to farmers in the state. Once again accusing BJP of falsely claiming that West Bengal government is denying funds to farmers, CM Mamata said that her government is giving Rs 5,000 each to farmers and has also arranged for free crop insurance.
Mamata Banerjee had informed the Assembly on Monday that out of 6 lakh applications of farmers sent by the centre for verification for payment of monetary assistance under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, the state government has sent back 2.5 lakh names following necessary work.
While speaking at a public rally at Kalna in Purba Barddhaman district, she talked about farmers atrocities during their agitation at Delhi borders against the new farm laws.

The TMC Supremo accused the BJP of resorting to lies about Hinduism and said that her party does not preach dividing people on the basis of religion.
"The BJP has turned the country into a crematorium, but we will not allow the same to happen in Bengal," she said as quoted by news agency PTI, expressing confidence that TMC will win the assembly election for the third consecutive term.
Humayun Kabir, an IPS officer who had resigned from a few days back, joined TMC at the rally in the presence of Mamata Banerjee.
