'Ignited Spirit Of Cultural Nationalism': BJP Lauds LK Advani For Bharat Ratna

Wishes started to pour in from the leaders of the BJP after PM Modi announced that Bharat Ratna would be conferred on LK Advani.

LK Advani Bharat Ratna: Several leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party congratulated veteran party leader Lal Krishna Advani after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday that he will be awarded the Bharat Ratna. Following the announcement, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Advani ignited the 'alakh' of cultural nationalism through his Rath Yatra and the parameters of honesty he created is huge.

"What did LK Advani not do to take the party forward from the days of Jana Sangh - both Atal Bihari Vajpayee and him?...Through Rath Yatra he ignited the 'alakh' of cultural nationalism - look where the party has reached today. Lord Ram's temple has been built...The parameters of honesty he created is huge. I thank the PM for giving this gift to the country and party's workers...We are all very happy. In a way, this is also an honour of the Bharat Ratna," Prasad said.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also extended his wishes and congratulated Advani for the award saying that his life has been an inspiration for everyone. "I congratulate Lal Krishna Advani for this... His life has been an inspiration for everyone. He will always remain an inspiration for everyone," Khattar said.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal thanked PM Modi for conferring the award on Advani, saying that it is a very timely and noble decision to recognise the services and work done by him.

"Our dear Lal Krishna Advani Ji has been conferred with the Bharat Ratna. I would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this very, very timely and noble decision to recognise the services and work done by 'Dada' as we all fondly call him. Somebody who has served the party and the nation for his entire life, who has dedicated himself to the people of India for over 70 years of public service... We are indeed very proud and delighted that Lal Krishna Advani Ji will be conferred with the Bharat Ratna," Piyush Goyal said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the decision to award Bharat Ratna to the former Deputy Prime Minister is a move to honour the decades of his service to the nation.

"The decision to award Bharat Ratna to Lal Krishna Advani is a move to honour the decades of his service to the nation, commitment for the integrity of the country and setting high standards of morality in political life," the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister wrote on X.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the 96-year-old is a source of inspiration and that he played an important role in the expansion of the BJP.

"Awarding Bharat Ratna to our source of inspiration Lal Krishna Advani is a proud moment for us and the entire country. He dedicated his entire life to the country and society...Atal Bihari Vajpayee and he played an important role in the expansion of the BJP," Gadkari said.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that it is a joyous and happy moment that Advani is being conferred with Bharat Ratna. "it a It is joyous and happy moment to know that Shri Lal Krishna Advani Ji is being conferred with Bharat Ratna! Shri #LKAdvani Ji is an inspiration for our youth as a great organization builder. His commitment to the party's ideology of Antyodaya, and building of a strong Bharat shall continue to inspire. I congratulate Shri Advani Ji and Union Govt for honoring him with the highest civilian honor of Bharat," the Goa CM said.
