Bihar Polls 2020: Phase 1 Polling Turns Star-Studded As Ameesha Patel, Manoj Tiwari Bolster Campaigns

Patna: As the state of Bihar is all set for the phase 1 voting on October 28, campaigning for the polls ended on Monday. Very much of a star-studded affair from Bollywood actors to Bhojpuri superstars were seen in the state asking for votes on behalf of parties and contestants. As compared to the state’s prominent leaders the stars may have emerged as a bigger attraction than Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar, Lok Janshakti Party’s (LJP) Chirag Paswan and Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) Tejashwi Yadav, but the doubt still prevails that weather the star-studded affair can influence the electoral outcome on November 10, when poll results will be declared. The first phase voting of the assembly election on 71 on October 28, is going to be the first to be held amid the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak. Ameesha Patel who made her debut in the industry with Hrithik Roshan in “Kaho Na Pyaar Hai” sought votes for LJP candidate Dr Prakash Chandra from Obra constituency of Auranghabad district. Bhojpuri actress and singer campaigned for the national president of Jantantrik Vikas Party (JVP) Anil Kumar contesting from Bhojpur’s Tarari assembly seat. Actor turned politician Congress leader Raj Babbar, who is still remembered for his stellar performances in films such as Insaf Ka Tarazu and Nikaah, campaigned for his party’s candidates. Bhojpuri star BJP MP Manoj Tiwari who sang the popular number “Jiya ho Bihar ke Lala” for the movie Gangs of Wasseypur. Was seen singing the song while campaigning for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates in the state. While the parties and candidates are busy fielding Bollywood stars to attract large crowds and translate them into votes, but the matter still rests with the mandate of the crowd of whom to crown. The first round of the voting session of the bihar assembly elections commences on October 28, followed by second and third round on November 3     and 7, respectively.
