Bihar: 7-year-old allegedly killed, buried in shelter home where 16 girls were raped
The horrific case of sexual exploitation of inmates of a shelter home at Muzaffarpur had come to light more than a month ago in a report of a Mumbai-based social science institute which had conducted an audit of the state-funded establishment run by an NGO.
NEW DELHI: A team of policemen in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur dig up the grounds at a government shelter home where over 16 young girls were raped.
A girl had told police that another 7-year-old girl was killed after a disagreement with the staff. It is alleged that her body was buried in the shelter compound. After court orders, the area is now being dug up the ground.
Harpreet Kaur, SSP, Muzaffarpur said that nothing has been found so far at the shelter home premises where digging is underway. We are conducting a thorough investigation, police is working independently.
Taking swipe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav said that the owner of the NGO that runs the shelter home is close to CM Nitish Kumar, had even campaigned for him in elections.
Till now, 8 women and 3 men, including operator Brajesh Thakur have been arrested.

Police had launched a search for the body of an inmate of a state-funded shelter home for girls here who was allegedly beaten to death by staff members.
