Bharat Jodo Yatra: BJP Came To Power Polarising People And Defaming UPA, Says Ashok Gehlot
Gehlot warned people about communal politics at a massive rally in Ballari, Karnataka, saying the country cannot afford an atmosphere of tension, violence, and communalism.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot charged the BJP on Saturday with assuming power by defaming the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre and polarising people, news agency PTI reported.
The public meeting was conducted to commemorate the Bharat Jodo Yatra reaching the 1,000-kilometer mark.
Gehlot said no one knew which direction the country is going because of communal politics gaining credence.
“This country cannot afford the atmosphere of tension, violence, and communalism,” the Rajasthan Chief Minister said.
“People are aware of the tricks with which the BJP came to power by defaming the UPA government. Neither the Lokpal was implemented, nor the black money was brought. The BJP came to power by polarising people and defaming the UPA government,” Gehlot said, PTI reported.
The Rajasthan Chief Minister stated that Rahul Gandhi will make history with his march, which will focus on the country's current challenges.
“The challenges are from fascist and communal forces. We condemn the steps taken by them to destroy this country. Constitution is in tatters and the democracy is in danger. Common man is hit hard by spiraling prices and unemployment. In this situation, Rahul Gandhi’s message is reaching every nook and corner of the country," he noted, PTI reported.

Gehlot in Tweet said, "The message of Rahul Gandhi ji, there should be brotherhood among all castes, among all classes, within all religions, there should be politics of love and love, there should be an atmosphere of goodwill, there should be no place for violence, this atmosphere is needed today. For which Rahul Gandhi has left and the caravan has started."
pic.twitter.com/5Izx5wIISX

It is easy to politicise religion and caste but one needs an outlook of the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to build a new India, Gehlot said.
He pointed out that Nehru built many infrastructure soon after independence, which enabled the country stand strong on the foundation laid by him.
Gehlot was optimistic of Karnataka proving a turning point for the Congress as, he said, politics always took a turn in the State, PTI reported.
He said there would be a Congress government in the State and a change across the country.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi earlier addressed the public meeting where he criticised the ruling party (BJP) in Karnataka, claimed that "atrocities against SC-ST people have increased by 50%," news agency PTI reported.
