The Congress party asserts that the initiative is not merely an electoral campaign but a platform to voice people's concerns, accusing the government of stifling their voices in Parliament. The yatra is framed as an attempt to reinstate the foundational principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity embedded in the Constitution.
Despite the party's insistence on the non-electoral nature of the yatra, its timing is crucial as the Congress seeks to revive its electoral prospects following a lackluster performance in recent assembly elections.
