According to the reports, there are several myths and folklore associated with the festival. Bhai Dooj claims to have its origin in mythology. It is believed that once the God of Death, Yamaraj, visited his sister the Yamuna. The thrilled Yamuna welcomed her brother with an aarti and applied tilak on Yama’s head. It was her tilak that apparently made Yamraj immortal. She also offered him sweets and gifts. While in return Yama gave her a boon that whoever celebrated Bhai dooj with his sister and took a bath in the holy river of Yamuna would never go to hell.Bhai Dooj 2018: Wishes, SMS, Facebook and Whatsapp status
