Kolkata: A Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker named Mrityunjoy Paul on Thursday filed a police complaint against actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty and West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Dilip Ghosh for “instigating and provoking” the saffron party workers in “spreading violence and brutality” in the whole.
This comes as the TMC and BJP have been at loggerheads over the violence in the state post the declaration of assembly elections results on May 2.
Earlier in the day, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee accused the central ministers of inciting the post-poll violence in the state after election results were declared.
She alleged that the BJP-led government at the Centre is yet to come to terms with its loss in West Bengal.
The Chief Minister’s remark came comes hours after a convoy of Union Minister and BJP leader V. Muraleedharan was attacked in West Midnapore district.
