Chennai: With the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) trouncing the throne of Tamil Nadu after a hiatus of 10 years registering a splendid victory in the assembly elections, a rumour was set off on social media regarding Chief Minister-designate M.K. Stalin who officially takes charge on May 7.
The rumour that got many talking on social was that of the cake sliced at Stalin’s residence to celebrate the AIADMK’s victory in the assembly polls, was brought from Dubai at a whopping price of Rs 2.5 crore.
Reports that Stalin himself ordered the cake further set the rumour mills churning. This as a photograph of the DMK chief’s wife Durga Stalin standing next to a cake in the shape of the General Secretariat has gone viral on social media amid claims that the worth Rs 2.5 crore cake made by renowned designer Debbie Wingham to celebrate the party’s victory, was brought on a private plane.
Reports, however, later emerged that the cake was not made in Dubai but in a shop named Cake Square in the state capital Chennai.
