Amid reports of post-poll violence in Bengal, Union Minister V Muraleedharan's car was attacked by the locals in West Midnapore. The minister took to Twitter and shared visuals of the attack where locals are seen with lathis attacking his car. Some are also being seen pelting stones at Muraleedharan's car.


The Minister of State for External Affairs took to Twitter and shared the video claiming that the attack was done by 'TMC goons'.



Muraleedharan alleged that the 'TMC goons' attacked his car, broke the window glasses and even attacked his personal staff.


Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Rahul Sinha's car was also attacked allegedly by Trinamool Congress.


Following TMC’s thumping victory in Assembly polls on Sunday, there have been reports of widespread violence in the state with many BJP offices and workers being allegedly targeted by TMC workers. There have also been reports of TMC leaders being targeted by the BJP. More than 14 deaths have been reported to date.


In the wake of continued violence in West Bengal following poll results, the MHA deputed a team of top bureaucrats to West Bengal for a fact-finding exercise about the reports.


The MHA had on Wednesday written to the State government accusing it of not taking steps to stem the violence and asked why a report sought by it had not been received yet.
