Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina Receives Ceremonial Welcome At Rashtrapati Bhavan: Watch

Sheikh Hasina left for New Delhi on Friday afternoon for a bilateral visit which comes in less than 15 days as she was among the dignitaries invited to Modi's swearing-in ceremony on June 9.

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in India on Friday for a two-day state visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On Saturday she received a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan where Prime Minister Modi received her ahead of the bilateral meeting. 

The two leaders also met ministers and delegates from each other's countries during the ceremony. 

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union Minister JP Nadda, Minsters of State Jitendra Singh and Kirti Vardhan Singh were present from the Indian side during Hasina's welcome.

Hasina and Modi will have a one-to-one meeting later today followed by delegation-level talks. Both will witness the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understandings and agreements. 

Discussions on potential trade pact is on the cards during the meeting. 

Both the leaders will then attend a Banquet Luncheon hosted by Prime Minister Modi in her honour at Hyderabad House.

In the afternoon, Prime Minister Hasina will call on Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at his Secretariat. In the evening, she will call on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan before returning to Dhaka.

This visit will give a "major boost" to India-Bangladesh ties, Official Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal said in a social media post
