Ayodhya Case in Supreme Court: How BJP, Congress, others reacted after hearing deferred to Jan 10

Ayodhya Case in Supreme Court: Soon after Supreme Court on Friday ruled out that a new bench of judges will take a call on the future course of hearing on the sensitive Ayodhya title suit, reactions started floating in from all corners of the political horizons. While a majority of the people have welcomed the directive, some segment is not happy with regular delay by the top court in the issue. Demand for early construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya grew stronger on Friday within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and various Sangh Parivar outfits, while the Congress and other political parties called for restraint and awaiting the top court’s verdict without linking the issue to vote-bank politics. “We will not wait for the hearing on the case on turtle speed,” said Hindu Mahasabha leader Nand Kishore Mishra soon after the top court gave its order earlier today. The top court earlier today said that an appropriate bench will fix date of hearing in Ayodhya land dispute case on January 10. The name of judges on the bench is yet to be decided. Expressing relief after SC’s order, Mahant Paramdas said that the Supreme Court has taken the matter seriously and it seems that the matter will be heard judiciously from January 10. “If not, the same could have internal conflicts in politics,” he said. However, taking a different route, BJP MP Rakesh Sinha said that court order is disappointing and has been delayed. Sinha also said that court is serious on issues like Sabarimala and Jallikattu, but isn’t on issues related to Lord Ram. Even BJP's ally in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena has attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his latest remarks that his government was in no mood to take the ordinance on Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Shiv Sena on Thursday said that if the Ram Mandir can't be built before 2019 general elections, it will be like betraying people of the country. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday once again asserted that only a Ram temple will be constructed in Ayodhya. “Only a temple will come up in Ayodhya. We have faith in Lord Ram. It does not take time for time to change,” Bhagwat had said. BJP's Ghosi MP Hari Narayan Rajbhar has demanded from the government to enact a law for early construction of Ram Mandir. Rajbhar said this is an issue of faith and needs to be addressed at the earliest. However, Union Minister and LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan had opposed the idea of bringing an ordinance on the Ram Mandir issue. Speaking about the same, Paswan on Thursday said that the top court's decision on this matter should be final. "Everyone should accept whatever judgement the Supreme Court gives on the Ram Mandir issue - be he from Hindu, Muslim or any other community," Paswan said. Speaking to news agency ANI about the issue, NC Chief Farooq Abdullah said, "This(Ayodhya) issue should be discussed and sorted out across the table between people. Why to drag the issue to the Court? I am sure it can be resolved through dialogue. Lord Ram belongs to the whole world, not just Hindus."
