Aroosa Alam Row: Amarinder Singh Releases Pictures Of Sonia Gandhi With Pak Journalist
The former Punjab chief minister released some photos through his media adviser Raveen Thukral to justify his assertion.
New Delhi: A day after the Punjab government said that it would probe whether his friend Aroosa Alam has links with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday categorically stated the journalist’s India connection is not new.
The former Punjab chief minister released some photos through his media adviser Raveen Thukral to justify his assertion.

Singh released purported photos of former Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa's wife and daughter-in-law with Aroosa Alam.
“And how about you explaining this @MohdMustafaips. Isn't that your wife & daughter-in-law with the same lady? How low can you get? Mixing politics with friendship! #AroosaAlam personally cherishes these & many more such memories with your family’: @capt_amarinder,” Thukral tweeted.
The former Punjab chief minister’s media adviser also shared on the micro-blogging platform Aroosa’s meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
“Just by the way. (File photo). @Sukhjinder_INC @INCPunjab @CHARANJITCHANNI @INCIndia,” she tweeted.
Earlier on Friday, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said Aroosa Alam's link with the ISI should be probed.
He, however, later, clarified that the Research and Analysis Wing take up this investigation.
Tagging Amarinder Singh on Twitter, he asked the former why he got so perturbed over Aroosa Alam's issue.
“By the way,sir @capt_amarinder why are you so perturbed over probe on Aroosa and ISI links? Who sponsored her visa and everything concerning her will be throughly probed. I do hope eveyone (everyone) concerned will co-operate with police in probe,” he posted on the micro-blogging platform.
The fresh accusation against Captain Amarinder Singh, who resigned earlier on September 18 following months of infighting between him and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, comes just days after he announced plans to launch his own party.
The former chief minister, who is set to launch a new political party soon in the run up to the assembly elections, is reportedly hopeful of a seat arrangement with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab for 2022.
Aroosa Alam, who is a journalist, had reportedly met Captain Amarinder Singh during his Pakistan visit earlier in 2004.
As per reports, she is a regular visitor to the former chief minister’s home and had also attended his oath ceremony.
