A 40-year-old man who visited Palace Cinema Theater in Rayadurgam constituency of Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh passed away during the screening in the premises on Monday. The man, identified as Madhyahnappa, a resident of Ude Gollam village, died while watching the movie "Pushpa 2:The Rule" at the cinema hall.
According to eyewitnesses, Madhyahnappa was a fan of Allu Arjun and had come to watch the movie. However, during the screening, he suddenly fell ill and died. The theater management allegedly continued to play the movie despite knowing about the incident, which led to a heated argument between the victim's family members and the theater staff.
The police intervened and stopped the screening of the movie. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. The incident has caused tension in the area, and the police are working to maintain law and order.
The incident comes in the wake of the demise of a female fan in a stampede at a cinema hall in Hyderabad. A woman along with her family members visited Sandhya Threatre in Hyderabad to watch the first-day first show of the movie Pushpa 2. When the film crew including actor Allu Arjun suddenly made a surpise visit to the cinema hall, it led to a commotion. Soon, a stampede ensued which resulted in the death of the woman. Her son was also left in a critical condition.
Following this, the lead actress Rashmika Mandanna and Pushpa 2 producers extended their condolences and expressed their grief over the incident.
Later, Allu Arjun donated Rs 25 lakh to the family members of Revathi.
Yet, the police booked a case against Allu Arjun, his security staff and the cinema hall owners.
Meanwhile, Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy announced a ban on morning shows across the state.
