Heart Attack Precautions

If someone experiences a heart attack, bystanders should immediately call the local emergency number to seek medical assistance. While waiting for help to arrive, the affected person should chew and swallow an aspirin as it helps prevent blood clots and may reduce heart damage.

If the person becomes unconscious, a bystander should perform CPR. If available, an automated external defibrillator (AED) can also be used to assist in resuscitation.
