Ahead Of Diwali, Massive Traffic Jams In Delhi And Gurugram As People Flock Markets. Watch

Notably, the majority of working professionals are returning home as the three-day holiday break begins. In the evening, an overabundance of vehicles caused highway traffic jams.

Traffic snarls were seen in several parts of Delhi and Gurugram as people thronged markets on Friday ahead of Diwali. Massive traffic congestion was seen on the Sarhaul border at the Delhi-Gurugram expressway.

With Diwali approaching, people in Delhi are flocking to the markets in large numbers to do their holiday shopping. This has caused traffic jams in various parts of the city.

According to the police, they received over 40 calls about traffic congestion in various parts of the national capital, PTI reported.

The traffic commotion was visible in a video of the traffic jam shared by ANI on Twitter, with vehicle drivers honking in frustration.

Notably, with the onset of the three-day holiday break, the majority of working professionals are returning home. An overabundance of vehicles in the evening resulted in highway traffic jams.

The video shows how massive trucks, buses, and four-wheel vehicles move at a snail's pace due to traffic. To move faster, the two-wheeler drivers were seen sliding through spaces between cars and trucks. Long traffic jams on the highway during peak hours are common due to the large number of people who commute daily between Delhi and Gurugram.
