Agitating Students Detained, Removed From Outside Delhi Police Headquarters
A man on Thursday opened fire at a student protesting against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) at the Jamia Millia Islamia University
New Delhi: Protesters who were sitting outside Police Headquarters(old) at ITO against the firing incident in Jamia area yesterday, were detained and removed from the area on Friday morning. The students were protesting against Delhi Police after a man had opened fire at a student protesting against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) at the Jamia Millia Islamia University on Thursday.
"Due to the demonstration in front of PHQ, the road leading from W point to A point towards Vikas Marg has been closed by local police. Please refrain from using this route," the Delhi Traffic Police tweeted.
ABP News came across the Facebook profile of the accused - which claims that his name is 'Rambhakt Gopal'. In what comes as a shocking matter of fact, the accused made a 'Facebook Live video' minutes before entering the campus area and opening fire. Though he did not say anything in the 44-second video, but visuals of him entering the protest zone and students conducting peaceful protest can be seen. In total, the accused made 4 such Facebook Live videos before calmly walking away while waving the firearm above his head and shouting 'Yeh lo aazadi' amid heavy police presence in the area. The man was subsequently overpowered by police and taken into custody.#WATCH Delhi: Protesters who were sitting outside Police Headquarters(old) at ITO against the firing incident in Jamia area yesterday, detained by Police pic.twitter.com/UJCffpJKzN
