The callous policemen misbehaved with both of them and failed to produce any order to bar them from entering the village.

As ABP News’ team continued its unflagging attempt to visit the family of the victim of Hathras gangrape and murder, despite being stopped midway by the Uttar Pradesh Police, it has come to know that around 200 policemen have been deployed at the residence of the victim and the phones of family members have been forcefully switched off.

The brother of the Hathras victim, who somehow escaped the vigil, told ABP News that the entire family has been put under house arrest and they are not being allowed to speak to anyone and their phones have been switched off.

The victim's brother told ABP News that he made his way through the fields because around 200 policemen have surrounded the house and all the members of the family are scared.

ABP News' team of reporters still stand tall on the ground and are asking questions on why media is being stopped from covering the incident. ABP News received massive support from all over the country as people came out of their houses and started candle march demanding justice for the victim and urging UP cops to allow ABP news and perform their duty.

In a massive impact of ABP News’ relentless coverage of Hathras gangrape incident, several police officials who were found responsible for the mishandling of the case have been suspended.

Vikrant Veer, Superintendent of Police has been suspended today, and Shamli SP Vineet Jaiswal will take charge of Hathras district. "In the Hathras case, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to suspend the SP, DSP, Inspector and some other officials, based on the preliminary investigation report," the Chief Minister's Office announced.

Narco polygraph tests of SP and DSP to also be conducted, the CMO has said.

The action has been taken in the wake of the alleged dereliction of duty in the events that led to the death of the 19-year-old victim who was allegedly gangraped and was hastily cremated in the dead of the night in absence of her family members.

The woman was allegedly raped in a Hathras village by four men, who were later taken into custody. Initially, she was rushed to the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in Aligarh, but on Monday night had to be shifted to the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi after her condition deteriorated.

While ABP News will continue its pursuit to speak to the victim's family, questions are being raised on the Hathras DM Praveen Kumar who was seen threatening the victim's family in a viral video.
