ABP News' anchor Sumit Awasthi wins 'journalist of the year' award at Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards

On winning the 'Journalist of the year' award, Awasthi said, “I am extremely honoured and humbled to receive this recognition and thank everyone for recognizing my efforts. It has been 22 years since I started my career and I am glad my efforts have yielded good results.”

New Delhi: ABP News’ anchor Sumit Awasthi, who is a prominent face in the field of journalism, won the prestigious “Journalist of the year” award at Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2019 held in Mumbai. Awasthi is one of the best-known names in journalism and has secured his place as a top-notch anchor of the country. Currently, Sumit Awasthi is part of ABP News Network, where his forte has been political reportage, along with cricket and international affairs as well. He hosts prime-time show “Sumit Awasthi Tonight” at ABP News . The award ceremony was an evening of glitz and glamour with a galaxy of stars from Bollywood, Indian television and music fraternity walking down the red carpet. Organized at Mukesh Patel Auditorium in Juhu, Mumbai, Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2019 recognized some of the best performances and talents of 2018. On winning the Journalist of the year award, he  said, “I am extremely honoured and humbled to receive this recognition and thank everyone for recognizing my efforts. It has been 22 years since I started my career and I am glad my efforts have yielded good results.” Sumit Awasthi has close to 22 years of experience in the field of journalism and has worked with some of the top media houses in the country.
