As per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, the pension of these Municipal Corporation employees of Uttar Pradesh will be raised from Rs.3500 per month to Rs.9000 per month.
7th Pay Commission 300% Pension Hike Approved: 7th Pay Commission recommendations for pension have been approved for the Municipal Corporation employees of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The UP Municipal Commissioner has given a nod to give almost a three-fold hike to pension of Nagar Nigam aka Municipal Corporation employees who retired before 2016.
As per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, the pension of these Municipal Corporation employees of Uttar Pradesh will be raised from Rs.3500 per month to Rs.9000 per month. The demand had been long pending from the employees who had retired before the year 2016. The UP Government had approved the 7 CPC recommendations earlier, however, the order has not been brought to effect until now by the Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation.
Given the current inflation and cost of living, Rs.3500 pension cannot make ends meet for a pensioner. After a meeting with the Municipal Commissioner – Dr. Indramani Tripathi; the UP Nigar Nigam Karmchari Sangh President - Anand Verma informed that the government order on implementing 7th Pay Commission recommendations for Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation employees who retired on or before 31st December 2016 will be implemented shortly as confirmed by the Municipal Commissioner.
The move is not only going to help pensioners but the kin of deceased employees too.
On the other hand, the centre government is expected to give more clarity on implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations before the end of its tenure. Though, the BJP-led centre had raised the minimum pay from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 18,000/- per month, with a fitment factor of 2.57 times in June 2016; the central government employees are demanding minimum pay to be raised to Rs.26,000/- and fitment factor to be hiked to 3.68 times.
Earlier this week, the government granted Rs.1241 Crores to the academic staff of government, state-government, government-aided and other Technical institutions across the country that come under the control of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The move brings cheer to a total of 29,264 teachers and other academic staff of state government funded institutes as well as for approximately 3.5 lac teachers and other academic staff of private institutions under AICTE. The government will also reimburse 50% of arrears from 1st January 2016 to 31st March 2019 as per 7th CPC recommendations.
