Husqvarna plans three model launch after late 2016

New Delhi: Husqvarna plans to have a three model launch in late 2016 with the Vitpilen 401, Vitpilen 701 and a 125 model. With these models, the Husqvarna will target both the entry-level space as well as the premium space. While the Vitpilen 401 will be based on the KTM 390 Duke, the 125 model will be powered by a 125 cc motor and the Vitpilen 701 will share its underpinnings with the KTM 690 Duke. Out of the three, the Vitpilen 701 will sport highly attractive looks, close to its concept design. As per the schedule or plans of the Husqvarna, the Vitpilen 401 and the 125 will be launched late this year, while it will take another year for the Vitpilen 701 to have a launch. The production-spec bike is also similar to the concept that was debuted in 2013. Motorcycle News (MCN) has gained direct access to the Austrian Kiska Design Studio, which has designed the KTMs for a span of more than twenty years. Kiska’s Chief Designer also confirms to MCN that the bike will look the same as the concept, while indicators and license plates will be as is. He also further stated that the 701 would sport a more mechanical appearance, while the 401 will have a progressive modern touch. However, they will retain their classic touch, as modern buyers repose interests in retro designs and models. What goes in favor of the Husqvarna models is the simple design in retro fashion, while sporting modern elements. The historical brand making a great comeback will launch a whole range of motorcycles ranging from 125 cc to 1,301 cc, sharing the mechanics with the KTM. Source:vicky.in
