They include the introduction of animated stickers, QR codes, enabling users to expand their view during a video group chat and a dark mode for WhatsApp Web. "We are rolling out new animated sticker packs that are even more fun and expressive," the Facebook-owned platform said in a statement. "We are making it easier than ever to add new contact. Soon when you meet someone new, you will be able to scan their QR code to add them to your contacts. No more tapping in their digits one at a time," the company added. The QR codes will be used to make it easier for people to add more contacts to the app. The users will able to witness the new features in the coming weeks as an update. In group video calls, WhatsApp now enables users to chat with as many as 8 others with a tap on the video icon. "With now up to 8 people on a video call, we've made it easier to focus on whoever you want by letting you press and hold to maximize a participant's video to full screen," said the company. Besides all these updates on WhatsApp, KaiOS users will also now be able to share a 'Status' that lets users post updates that disappear after 24 hours.
