WhatsApp group video calling feature is live! Here's how you can use it

At Facebook's F8 developer conference in May, WhatsApp had announced to bring group calling support on its platform. It has finally rolled today.

Facebook-owned WhatsApp finally rolled out its group calling feature on Tuesday. The feature is available for both voice and video options. The group calling feature is made available on iOS and Android devices for 1.5 billion WhatsApp users. The feature supports up to four people making the video call simultaneously. WhatsApp said in a statement said, Over the last couple years, people have enjoyed making voice and video calls on WhatsApp. In fact, our users spend over 2 billion minutes on calls per day. We're excited to announce that group calls for voice and video are coming to WhatsApp starting today." "You can make a group call with up to four people total -- anytime and anywhere," it added. Currently, WhatsApp users spend over two billion minutes on calls per day. "Group calls are always end-to-end encrypted, and we've designed calling to work reliably around the world in different network conditions," WhatsApp added. At Facebook's F8 developer conference in May, WhatsApp had announced to bring group calling support on its platform. The instant messaging service unveiled video chatting in 2016 and voice calling in 2014.

WhatsApp group video calling feature: How to use

Step 1) Open WhatsApp on your iOS or Android device Step 2) Tap on the video call option Step 3) On the top right corner, tap the new "add participant" button ➕ Step 4) Tap the contact you wish to add on the video chat Step 5) Tap the video camera icon Step 6) Look into the front-facing camera Step 7) Speak clearly into the microphone Step 8) Once done, tap the red phone icon to end the call
