This new 'Vanish Mode' will work slightly differently as the message will disappear once the receiver has read it and the chat window is closed. In WhatsApp, users send a message for a time limit (currently fixed at one week) after which it gets automatically deleted.
The company released a statement revealing that the feature has been built into the app to help the user "be in the moment, and share with close friends and family without staying in your chat history".
According to Facebook, the feature is best suited for memes, GIFs, stickers, or reactions that are cool when you send them, but you may not want them to be a part of your chat history.

How To Enable 'Vanish Mode'
To enable this new feature, the user will have to swipe up on the phone in a chat window to activate the vanish mode. To return to regular chat, swipe up again. Users will soon be able to see instructions about the same in their app when the feature eventually rolls out for everyone.
The catch here is that both sender and the receiver will have to activate the feature for it to work, it won’t if either have not opted in. Additionally, the platform will inform the sender if the receiver chooses to take a screenshot of the message that has been sent on Messenger in this mode.
"If someone takes a screenshot of your chat while you’re using vanish mode, you’ll be notified. And as always, you can block someone and report a conversation if you feel unsafe," the company informed.
Users in the US and a few other countries will witness it initially and then it will be rolled out in the EU countries.
