Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed Yet Again!! December 10 Confirmed As New Release Date

Set to be released on November 19 on the back of numerous delays, Cyberpunk 2077 action role-play video game featuring Hollywood star Keanu Reaves will now be launched on December 10.

In what comes as a major disappointment for gaming freaks around the world, the release of the highly awaited action role-play video game 'Cyberpunk 2077' has been delayed yet again with its launch postponed by 21 days. Set to be launched on November 19 on the back of numerous delays, the game featuring Hollywood star Keanu Reaves will now be launched on December 10. The news over the video game's launch delay was shared on Twitter by the co-founder and director and the major reason behind yet another undesirable postponement was cited to be its compatibility with the next-gen consoles from PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series hitting the markets next month. “Since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works and every version runs smoothly,” director Adam Badowski and CD Projekt co-founder Marcin Iwinski wrote in the release. “We’re aware it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 days can make any difference in such a massive and complex game, but they really do.” A Brief about Cyberpunk 2077 Cyberpunk 2077 is a new franchise from CD Projekt Red, the well known makers of the immensely popular 'The Witcher' series of games.

The setting of Cyberpunk 2077 is located at the fictional 'Night City', which is sandwiched between the cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco in California (US). The game follows V, a mercenary who is after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to mortality.

The first variant of Cyberpunk 2077 will be a single-player game. However, the company has chalked out a plan to make it a multiplayer game. Cyberpunk 2077 will be released for PlayStation4, Xbox One and PC. Notably, Cyberpunk 2077 will become the first game to use the REDengine technology of the company CD Projekt RED.

The launch delay has not gone down well by a major section of the fans as they went onto share screenshots of Cyberpunk 2077’s old tweets where it confirmed that there will be no delays beyond November 19 which was just a few days after the release of next-gen consoles.

Badowski further explained the reason behind the delay and accepted that they ‘undercalculated’ the time the game will be ready for release. “Some of you might also be wondering what these words mean in light of us saying we achieved gold master sometime ago. Passing certification, or ‘going gold’ means the game is ready, can be completed, and has all content in it. But it doesn’t mean we stop working on it and raising the quality bar. On the contrary, this is the time where many improvements are being made which will then be distributed via a Day 0 patch. This is the time period we undercalculated.” You can read the full statement from Badowski and Iwinski over the below. "Today, we've decided to move the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 by 21 days. The new release date is December 10th. Most likely, there are many emotions and questions in your heads, so, first and foremost, please accept our humble apologies. The biggest challenge for us right now is shipping the game on current-gen, next-gen, and PC at the same time, which requires us to prepare and test 9 versions of it (Xbox One/X, compatibility on Xbox Series S|X, PS4/Pro, compatibility on PS5, PC, Stadia)...while working from home. Since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works well and every version runs smoothly. We're aware it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 days can make any difference in such a massive and complex game, but they really do.
