President Droupadi Murmu Oath Live: Newly-elected President Droupadi Murmu is all set to take oath for the country's highest constitutional post and will be given a 21-gun salute after that, as reported by news agency PTI. The ceremony would take place at around 10.15 am in the Central Hall of Parliament, where Chief Justice N. V. Raman will administer the oath of office to her, said Union Home Ministry.
The Home Ministry said that after this she would be given a 21-gun salute. This will be followed by the President's address. Before the ceremony, the outgoing President and the elected President will arrive in Parliament. Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, members of the Council of Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, Members of Parliament and heads of government, civil and military officials, will attend the ceremony.
At the conclusion of the ceremony in the Central Hall of Parliament, the President will proceed to the 'Rashtrapati Bhavan', where she will be presented with an 'Inter-Service Guard of Honour' and will be accorded a courtesy call on the outgoing President.
Murmu (64) on Thursday created history by defeating Yashwant Sinha, the presidential candidate of the opposition parties. Murmu secured more than 64 per cent of valid votes of MPs and MLAs including the electorate and won the election by a huge margin of votes. She will become the 15th President of the country. Murmu got 6,76,803 votes against Sinha's 3,80,177 votes.

President Droupadi Murmu addressed the Parliament and the country after taking oath of office. She thanked the outgoing President Kovind, Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, CJI Ramana, And PM Modi. Murmu is the first President of India who was born after India got Independence. Murmu also greeted the country on Kargil Vijay Diwas which will be celebrated on July 26.
She also spoke about her background and said that she has spent half of her life in a small village in Odisha but she was determined to bring change in the country.
