Construction At Ram Temple Complex In Ayodhya To Be Completed By Dec 2024

A meeting of the temple construction committee was held recently and it was decided to complete all the constructions in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex by the end of this year, Anil Mishra said.

New Delhi: The construction work at the Ram temple complex in Ayodhya will be completed by December this year, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said on Thursday.

As per officials, around 75 lakh devotees have visited the temple since the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol on January 22.

Anil Mishra, a member of the temple trust, provided further details on the construction progress, saying, currently about 1,500 workers are employed, and an additional 3,500 workers will soon join the effort to accelerate the construction of the remaining two floors of the three-storey temple building, as per PTI.

The ground floor of the temple was completed in December of last year. A recent meeting of the temple construction committee decided to complete all constructions within the Ram Janmabhoomi complex by the end of this year.

"The sanctum sanctorum, situated on the ground floor of the temple, will be installed on the first floor as after having 'darshan' of Ram Lalla, devotees will be able to have 'darshan' of Lord Ram's court", he said. The construction of the main spire and another spire of the grand temple is progressing rapidly, with the peaks expected to be completed within the next 300 days, according to a member of the temple trust.

"There will be a total of five peaks in the temple, of which three peaks were prepared before the consecration ceremony", Mishra said, adding that the main peak is being built 161 feet high with a layer of gold on it.

"The 'parkota' of the temple will also be ready before the arrival of monsoon to protect devotees from rain and sun", he added.

In addition to the main temple structure, the complex will feature temples dedicated to six gods and goddesses, alongside temples dedicated to seven sages. He said that L&T, the company which is constructing the temple, is going to field an army of workers, currently 1,500, from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

In addition to the temples dedicated to Hindu saints mentioned in ancient religious texts, such as Valmiki, Vashishtha, Vishwamitra, Agastya, Nishadraj, and Ahilya, the complex will also include Nishadraj and Ahilya, as shared by Mishra. Furthermore, there are plans to widen the road from Tedhi Bazaar at the western end of the Ram Janmabhoomi to a post office via Ashrafi Bhawan and Vibhishan Kund by 15 meters. This expansion is prompted by the increasing number of devotees, according to Ayodhya's District Magistrate Nitish Kumar, reported PTI.

Prakash Gupta, the officer in charge of the Ram temple trust, stated that more than two lakh devotees visit the Ram temple on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with approximately 1.5 lakh devotees arriving on other days.
