New Delhi: BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya on Saturday slammed Chhattisgarh Panchayat Minister TS Singh Deo after he resigned from the Panchayat and Rural development department. Malviya took to Twitter and wrote, “It is Punjab all over again for the Congress in Chattisgarh. Just before elections next year, senior leader TS Singh Deo has resigned from all but the health minister’s portfolio. He is apparently miffed at Bhupesh Baghel blocking media from covering or inviting him to functions.”

Without giving any reason for the resignation, Singh Deo told PTI, "I have decided to resign from the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. Soon, I will submit my resignation letter."

"I have decided to dissociate myself from this department last (Friday) night itself. After considering it thoroughly today, I am sending my resignation to the Chief Minister," he added.

Singh Deo is an elected member of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly from Ambikapur (District Surguja) since 2008. He took charge of Panchayat and Rural Development on 17 December 2018.
