Bypoll Results For 13 Assembly Constituencies Across 7 States Today
The results for 13 assembly constituencies across seven states are set to be announced today following bypolls held on Wednesday. These by-elections witnessed moderate to high voter turnout, despite sporadic incidents of violence in Uttarakhand, Bihar, and West Bengal. Voting was conducted from 7 am to 6 pm.
According to the Voter Turnout app of the Election Commission (EC), Tamil Nadu's Vikravandi assembly seat registered the highest polling percentage among the 13 constituencies, while Uttarakhand's Badrinath seat saw the lowest turnout. This electoral exercise, the first since the Lok Sabha elections, will determine the fate of several veterans and newcomers, including Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's wife, Kamlesh Thakur.
Despite some incidents of violence in Bihar, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal, the polling process was largely peaceful. In Uttarakhand's Manglaur constituency, a clash between supporters of rival parties at a polling booth resulted in injuries to four individuals.
