Pune Bandh Tomorrow: Opposition Call For Strike On December 13
On Tuesday, December 13, opposition parties and other social unions have called for a "bandh." A merchants' group in Pune, Maharashtra, has agreed to support the December 13 'bandh' in response to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari's statements about Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The bandh has been declared by the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Sambhaji Brigade, and other organisations. In a release on Thursday, Fatehchand Ranka, president of the Federation of Merchants Associations of Pune (FATP), stated that the office-bearers of the three parties and the Smabhaji Brigade had appealed to the traders' body to support the bandh called to oppose the governor's words.
Another Cyclonic Circulation Likely To Form In South Andaman Sea On December 13: IMD
According to the India Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is expected to form in the south Andaman Sea around December 13. On December 13-14, moderately widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rains is expected over Andaman and Nicobar. Meanwhile, another system is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal by mid-December, according to a study.
However, the storm is unlikely to become a cyclone. The fresh information comes after cyclonic storm 'Mandous' made landfall on Sunday night near the coast of Mamallapuram in neighbouring Tamil Nadu. The IMD said today that the remnants of cyclonic storm Mandous have established a Low Pressure Area.
Collegium Recommends Elevation Of 5 HC Judges To Supreme Court
The Supreme Court Collegium recommends elevation of five HC judges to SC. They are Justice Pankaj Mithal (Chief Justice of Rajasthan HC), Justice Sanjay Karol (Chief Justice of Patna HC), Justice PV Sanjay Kumar (Chief Justice of Manipur HC), Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah (Judge of Patna HC) and Justice Manoj Misra (Judge of Allahabad HC).
Nepal: 13 Dead In Road Accident In Kavrepalanchok District
At least 13 people died in a road accident in Kavrepalanchok district of central Nepal. "The bus carrying revellers from a religious ceremony met with an accident at around 6.30 PM (local time). 20 people were injured and taken to hospital," Kavrepalanchok SP told ANI.
Terrorist Associate Arrested In J&K's Pulwama District
Security forces on Tuesday arrested a terrorist associate of the Al-Badr outfit from Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. Yawar Bashir Dar is a resident of Arigam in Pulwama. "Police in Pulwama along with the Army and CRPF, at a joint checkpoint established at Bandzoo Crossing, arrested one active terrorist associate linked with proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr and recovered incriminating materials, arms and ammunition, including a pistol from his possession," a police spokesperson said.

A loud blast, and gunfire rocked a guest house popular with Chinese nationals in Afghanistan's Kabul, reported news agency Reuters, which left two foreigners injured and three gunmnen killed by the security forces. The responsibility for the attacks was claimed by the Islamic State.
