Sisodia Slams Centre As CBI Continues Crackdown On AAP
As the CBI began questioning the accused in the Delhi excise policy 'corruption' case in which he has been named, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday claimed it was ploy by the BJP which 'fears' Arvind Kejriwal and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls will be a battle between the AAP chief and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BJP hit back, alleging that Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal was the "kingpin" in the "liquor scam" and the Aam Aadmi Party was trying to divert attention from its corruption by linking the CBI action to politics. It asserted that Modi would improve his tally in the next general election as he did in 2019.
A day after the CBI raid against him, Sisodia, at a press conference, expressed apprehension that the agency or the ED may arrest him in the next 3-4 days and alleged that it was part of the "script to stop Kejriwal who has emerged as a national alternative" to Modi.
Meghalaya-Assam Border Dispute: CMs To Meet Today
The second phase of border talks between Meghalaya and Assam aimed at resolving differences relating to six disputed areas will be held at Guwahati on Sunday, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said on Saturday.
The two northeastern states had signed a memorandum of understanding for ending the five-decade-old border dispute in six of the 12 disputed areas in New Delhi on March 29 in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
“Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will be meeting at Guwahati on Sunday to discuss setting up of regional committees to take forward the second phase of border talks for resolving the remaining six areas of difference,” Tynsong told news agency PTI.
Bihar: Tejashwi's 6 Do's For RJD Legislators
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday issued a series of instructions to the newly inducted ministers of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the state cabinet. Of the 31 ministers in the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar cabinet, 16 are from the RJD.
Sharing the order on Facebook, Yadav listed a number of do’s and don’t’s for the ministerial colleagues of his party.
The first instruction reads, “Ministers made of Rashtriya Janata Dal quota in the government will not buy any new car for themselves in the department.”
Soldier dies by suicide in J-K’s Rajouri
An Army jawan allegedly ended his life by hanging himself in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Sunday.
The personnel was found hanging with a rope by his colleagues inside a camp at Mankote on August 18 and was rushed to a military hospital, a police official said.
