Welcome to the ABP News HIGHLIGHTS for Thursday, February 25, 2021: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tamil Nadu and Puducherry today to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development initiatives. According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for 4 laning of NH45-A - 56 km Sattanathapuram - Nagapattinam package of Villupuram to Nagapattinam project covering Karaikal district in Puducherry at around 11:30 AM. 

Home Minister Amit Shah will visit poll-bound state Assam today. Amit Shah will attend two religious events and address public gatherings in Nagaon and Karbi Anglong districts. As per reports, the Union Home Minister will address a public meeting at Batadrava.

Nirav Modi's extradition verdict to be out today, he will know whether he'll be deported back to India where he is wanted for fraud and money laundering in the ₹ 14,000-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam. Since his arrest, the fugitive diamond merchant has made six attempts to get bail, of which all got denied. Modi even approached the High Court but was denied bail again and was deemed a flight risk, his extradition case began in March 2019.

The highest in 129 days, a total of 8,807 fresh Covid-19 cases were added to Maharashtra’s daily tally on Wednesday. The state reported 80 deaths, the highest in two months since December 24, when 89 deaths were reported.

With this, the total cases in the state jumped to 21,21,119 and the toll touched 51,937.

People have got great relief today as the petrol prices have not increased for two consecutive days. On Thursday, Petrol is available at a price of Rs. 90.93 paisa per litre in the National Capital Delhi while the price of Diesel is Rs. 81.32 paisa per litre.

Ind vs Eng, 3rd Test: Axar-Ashwin Shine As England Register Their Lowest Test Score Against India

On Day 2 of Ind vs Eng Pink-ball Test, England cricket team was reduced for 81 runs in their second innings. For India, spinner Akshar Patel took 5 wickets, also completing first-ever 10-wicket match haul in his career.  Veteran R Ashwin picked 4 wickets, while Washington Sundar took just 1 wicket. Meanwhile, Ashwin today completed his 400 wickets in Test cricket.

Delhi Govt To Change All Govt Vehicles To Electric Vehicles

In a major development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government has decided to change all vehicles used by its department into electric vehicles in the span of next six months.

As per reports, all vehicles deployed in govt departments, municipal corporations and other institutions are to be converted. All petrol, diesel and CNG operated vehicles will be changed to electric vehicles.

The decision was made under Delhi government's electric vehicle policy.

JUST IN | Ind vs Eng 3rd Test Update: Team India 145 Runs All Out

England captain Joe Root's exceptional five-wicket haul bundled up India for just 145 on the second day of the Pink-ball Test at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. On Day 2, India lost their 7 wickets for just 46 runs and ultimately was reduced to 145 runs. Skipper Root was the pick of bowlers as he bagged the highest 5 wickets for England while Leach took 4 wickets.

In the first innings, India had ended the first day's play after scoring 99 runs for 3 wickets and had a lead of 33 runs in the first innings. For India, Rohit Sharma batted handsomely and made 66 runs.
