Background

Welcome to the ABP News LIVE for Sunday, March 14, 2021: In the Mukesh Ambani Bomb threat case, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested  Mumbai Police officer Sachin Vaze, who has been facing heat in the death case of Mansukh Hiran. After questioning him for over 13 hours the NIA arrested the top cop in connection with the bomb scare at Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia residence.

According to the report of two poll observers submitted to the EC on Saturday, the alleged attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram which led to her being injured was in fact an accident and not a planned attack. The incident that happened at Birulia Bazar East Midnapore district's Nandigram on March 10 after the CM filed her nomination, had taken place "suddenly" even though a "conspiracy theory" was alleged.

Four days after Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was injured while campaigning in Nandigram, the 66-year-old Trinamool Congress chief will attend her first public event this afternoon. She will lead a huge roadshow in Kolkata in a wheelchair, her party has said. She will address the gathering at the end of the rally in Hazra.

An encounter between security forces and terrorists took place on Saturday night in Rawalpora of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir. A militant has been killed in this encounter. It is being told that the search operation is still going on.

India has reported 25,320 new Covid-19 cases, 16,637 recoveries, and 161 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Health Ministry data released on Sunday morning.

The hosts India are ready to face the visitors England in the second game of the five-match T20I series at Narendra Modi Stadium (Motera, Ahmedabad) this Sunday night.

India beat England to level series 1-1

A dream knock from youngster Ishan Kishan (32-ball 56) with a record four sixes on his debut and a captain's knock from skipper Virat Kohli (49-ball 73) powered team India to a sensational 7 wicket win over England in the Ind vs Eng 2nd T20I at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.

Ishan Kishan today became only the second Indian player to score a fifty in his debut T20I game. After Kishan's dismissal, Rishabh Pant continued the fireworks and departed on 26 after playing a quickfire cameo.

Earlier, a hard-fought 35-ball 46 run knock from opener Jason Roy powered England to 164/6 against India. For India, all-roudner Washington Sundar was the pick of bowlers as he struck twice to remove Roy (46) and Bairstow (20) in quick succession.

India had decided to bowl first after winning the toss. After a humiliating defeat in the series-opener, skipper Kohli made some big changes in the playing XI. Many cricket experts and fans had predicted that Ind vs Eng 2nd T20I would witness the return of senior opener Rohit Sharma, but he was again rested.

Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan were handed their India caps by head coach Ravi Shastri as they replaced Axar Patel and Shikhar Dhawan in India's playing XI.
