More than 3000 devotees took part in the 1008 Agni Chatti Procession in Tamil Nadu. As part of the procession, 1008 pots of fire were illuminated in Puliangudi, Tenkasi. The celebration was held at Arulmigu Mupperum Deviyaar Bhavani Amman Temple, reported ANI.

Delhi Court Dismisses Second Regular Bail Application Of AAP Leader Manish Sisodia In Delhi Excise Case

In a setback for AAP leader Manish Sisodia, the Rouse Avenue court in Delhi dismissed his second regular bail application in the Delhi Excise policy case. Both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) opposed his bail plea. Sisodia had cited trial delay as grounds for seeking bail, but the court upheld its decision, echoing its rejection of his earlier bail application last year. He has been in custody since February 2023, reported ANI.

Ministry of Defence posted on X, "Due to heavy snowfall along the Atal tunnel yesterday the vehicles and tourists had got stuck. However, BRO swung into action clearing the route of snow and rescued the stranded tourists. The road has since been cleared and the tunnel is open for traffic."

Incessant Rainfall: Schools Closed In Kashmir On Tuesday


Authorities in Kashmir have announced closure of all schools in the valley on Tuesday as a precautionary measure in view of the rising water level in rivers and streams due to incessant rainfall over the past three days.The University of Kashmir has also postponed all examinations that were scheduled to be held on Tuesday.The water level in water bodies across Kashmir has been rising due to the continuous rainfall, according to officials.While a danger warning has been issued for the Pohru Nallah in Kupwara district, the water level in other water bodies of the valley, including the Jhelum river, is still below the alert mark.


The meteorological department has forecast wet weather till Tuesday evening.The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, issued the order to suspend classes in all schools up to the higher secondary level on Tuesday.The step has been taken as a precautionary measure in view on the incessant rainfall, according to the order. The meteorological department said, The weather will improve from tomorrow. The weather will be generally dry with no major activity from May 1 to May 5.   Earlier in the day, heavy rainfall in Kupwara district forced authorities to suspend classes in schools.



Air India Suspends Flights To Tel Aviv Till April 30 Over Iran-Israel Conflict


Air India on Friday extended the suspension of its flight services to Israel's capital Tel Aviv till April 30, in the wake of prevailing conflict and tension between Israel and Iran.Our flights to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended until 30th April 2024, in view of the emerging situation in the Middle East, the airline said in a statement.The Tata-run airline has also offered one-time waiver for passengers rescheduling their flights.We are continuously monitoring the situation and are extending support to our passengers who have confirmed bookings for travel to and from Tel Aviv during this period, with a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges, the airline said.Currently, Air India runs four weekly flights between Delhi and Tel Aviv.
