Andhra Pradesh: CM YS Jagan Addresses At World Economic Forum In Davos On Strengthening the Health Sector

Jagan described the steps taken to control Covid-19 in Andhra Pradesh and how the state's medical systems are being strengthened.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke on Future-Proofing Health Systems on the second day of Davos's World Economic Forum conference on Monday. Participating in a WEF public session, Jagan described the steps taken to control Covid-19 in Andhra Pradesh and how the state's medical systems are being strengthened.

CM Jagan explained that Covid-19 control operations were implemented according to the field conditions in Andhra Pradesh. He said "We surveyed 44 houses as a unit. For this, one volunteer worked for every 50 homes. Forty-two thousand Asha workers took part in it. We went to the house and identified those who showed Corona symptoms. Isolation‌ centres had been set up, and medicines were provided. We implemented a plan that provided patients with the nutritious food they needed.  Hence the corona mortality rate in AP was recorded at 0.6 per cent, the lowest in the country, far below the national level".

We are setting up a medical college in every parliamentary constituency. PG-level medical students are available in medical colleges. With the help of ambulances, doctors can go to remote villages and provide medical treatment in Andhra Pradesh,” said CM YS Jagan.
