2 Dead, Many Injured As School Bus Rams Into Dumper Truck In Rajasthan's Barmer

Two people died and several got injured after a school bus that they were travelling in crashed into a dumper on Saturday night in Rajasthan's Barmer. A teacher and student of a government school were among the deceased. Police officials told news agency ANI that the unfortunate incident occurred near the Sehlau village at around 8 pm. Officials added that 24 students of Detani's Swami Vivekanand Government Model School, three teachers and the principal were on board when the incident took place. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Ibrahim (School Principal) and Savina (Student), reported news agency ANI.
Local residents called for an ambulance after they rushed to the scene following the sound of the crash.
Additional District Collector, Anjum Tahir Samma while talking to ANI about the incident said, "According to the initial information, girl students and the staff of Model School Detani went to participate in a sports competition in Raniwara. When they were returning, the bus had an accident with a dumper. A few girls were taken to CHC Gagariya. A total of nine people were taken there and all have been discharged. We are getting the information about the death of the Principal Mohammad Ibrahim. From Chauthan they were referred to Barmer. According to the situation here, a girl named Savina died. Three girls are critical and they have been referred to Jodhpur."

Police officials said that the parking lights of a truck parked on the side of Bharat Mala Road were off due to which the bus driver couldn't see it.
