New Delhi: Whenever there is a murder in a film, it's expected to bring thrills; everyone starts speculating about who committed the murder. Films like these turn everyone into detectives, 'Murder Mubarak' is one such film that has premiered on Netflix. The biggest highlight of this Netflix release is that until the end, you can't guess who the murderer is.
Plot
There's a club, the Delhi Royal Club, with memberships worth millions and a waiting list of twenty years, where the obscenely rich are members. Those who frequent this club put on such a facade that even the biggest braggers would blush. A murder occurs within these opulent walls, that of a gym trainer, sparking the police's investigation to uncover the perpetrator. The club members are unfazed by the murder; their concern lies in whether the photos they post on social media for condolences are perfect or not. It seems like a world apart, filled with love stories, sex, jealousy, deceit, and cunning – everything that a thriller film should have. Revealing more of the plot would spoil the film; it's best to watch it.
Review
This film hooks you right from the start; the opening scene itself is intriguing. As the investigation into the murder unfolds, alongside glimpses into the lives of the club's members, you're presented with a stark portrayal of human facades. Every time a mask is removed, revealing the true face behind it, you're reminded of how people often present themselves differently from who they really are. The murder investigation continues, leaving you guessing until the very end, and this suspense is the film's standout feature.
