World Earth Day 2023: Check Out These Travel Tips For A Sustainable Holiday

Try these travel tips for a more sustainable vacation on your next trip. Make a resolution to help the environment in any way you can this World Earth Day.

Eco-travel, also known as green travel, focuses on making travel more environmentally friendly. Travelling is always a good idea for everyone, but considering the environment and making conscious efforts towards a greener environment will make your trip even more fruitful. With so many global environmental issues, such as global warming, pollution, resource depletion, and more, it is past time to make domestic and international travel more environmentally friendly and green-environment oriented. On World Earth Day 2023, we've compiled a list of eco-friendly travel tips for those looking to make a difference while travelling.

Trust Public Transport Mediums:

Use public transport instead of hiring private cabs, taxis, or self-drive cars. Travelling by train and bus like a local will not only make your trip greener, but you will also get a taste of what life is like for the locals in the area.

Try Taking Direct Flight To Your Destination:

If you have the option of taking a direct flight to your desired destination and there are no other options, do so. Nonstop flights may have a lower environmental impact and are less stressful.

Don't Buy Wildlife-Made Artefacts:

Never buy artefacts made of leather or any other material that has endangered the destination's wildlife. This must be strictly adhered to in order to protect the natural environment as much as possible. Moreover, using animal-made artefacts endangers many wildlife species.

Strict 'No' To Plastic:

Plastic in any form, including packaging and water bottles, is harmful to the environment. Instead of buying new bottles of mineral water every day, you can carry your glass water bottle or sippers from home and refill them with drinking water. Paper or cloth bags should be used instead of plastic bags for packaging.

Avoid Going Deeper Into Sea:

It is critical to protect marine life if you are going to a beach destination. You should avoid going into the deep seas because it may disturb the ocean's fauna. Avoid adventure sports that require you to go deeper into the sea.

'Local' Is The Best:

The best way to protect a country's environment is to buy, eat, and shop locally, as this improves the economy. You can even donate to organisations working to protect the environment while visiting the location.

Opt For Sharing Spaces:

Avoid hotels whenever possible because they are typically not a very sustainable way of life. Instead, you can reserve hostels and dormitories, as well as other forms of co-sharing space. This will not only make your trip more environmentally friendly, but it will also give you a better opportunity to meet and interact with your fellow travellers.
