Saputara: Gujarat's Sole Hill Station

Unlike other popular hill stations, this tiny town has retained its simplicity, calm, and centuries-old culture. Located in the Dang district, on the bank of the Sarpagana River, this hill station will leave you awestruck. The name means ‘Abode of Serpents’ and was given by the indigenous tribes who come to the riverbanks to pray to snakes during various festivals such as Naag Panchami. How To Reach:

Saputara is a remote area far from city life, however, reaching here is not as difficult as it sounds. It is well connected via air, train, and road transport. The nearest airport is Surat Airport, which is approximately 167 km from Saputara, and the nearest railway station is Bilimora Railway Station, situated almost 50 km from the town. If you prefer road journeys and love long drives, then Sahyadri's hilly roads will give you major vibes.

Being Gujarat’s sole hill station, the state government is putting efforts into drawing more tourism to this tiny hill station by bringing several stay options and maintaining public places with all the necessities.
