Pakistani Hindu Influencer Uses Viral Trend To Challenge Stereotypes, WATCH

A Pakistani influencer, Deepna Rajput, is going viral on social media for using a popular trend to challenge stereotypes about Pakistani Hindus.

New Delhi: A Pakistani influencer, Deepna Rajput, is going viral on social media for using a popular trend to challenge stereotypes about Pakistani Hindus. The trend involves people completing the phrase "I'm a _____; of course I _____." Deepna and a few other women used the trend to address common misconceptions about Pakistani Hindus, including the idea that they are unhappy or support India in cricket matches.

Deepna took to the viral trend along with her other two friends/cousins and shared a video on Instagram with the caption,
"Hey! We are back with pt.2 🇵🇰 part 1 had a sarcastic tone whereas part 2 is literal.
This video is solely based on the experiences of three fortunate individuals, who DO NOT CLAIM TO REPRESENT THE WHOLE OF PAKISTANI HINDU COMMUNITY and are NOT speaking on behalf of them.
Perceptions, stories and opinions of Hindus in Pakistan differ based on their gender, region, caste, and age bracket.
We are mindful of the discrimination of the Hindu community , we have and always will stand for minority rights in Pakistan, however we have never claimed to be social activists.
The video intends to follow a trending format and is not meant to propagate any false information regarding any community or ethnic group.
After all every religion conveys the message of peace and love <3"

Deepna's reel has been a hit, garnering millions of likes and comments. While some viewers expressed scepticism, many praised the video for its positive message. The reel even inspired Pakistani Christians to create their own version of the trend.

Deepna, who lives in Karachi, says she's overwhelmed by the response. She emphasises that the reel is based on her own experiences and those of her friends and doesn't claim to represent all Pakistani Hindus. Deepna is also aware of the political climate in India and acknowledges that the timing of her reel could be misinterpreted. However, she insists the video is not intended as propaganda against India. Deepna's reel highlights the fact that while Hinduism is the second-largest religion in Pakistan, the community faces challenges.
