Know How Women Can Manage And Reverse Diabetes In The Present Times

For women, diabetes may appear and feel differently. A higher quality of life may result from recognising and addressing the particular signs, symptoms, and risks that women with diabetes face.

New Delhi: Diabetes is a collection of metabolic diseases in which a person has high blood glucose levels, also referred to as blood sugar, as a result of issues with the production or utilisation of the hormone insulin. To create and utilise energy from the carbohydrates you eat, your body requires insulin.

The control of diabetes has become increasingly important. It can raise your risk of developing potentially fatal health issues if it is not treated in a timely and effective way.

In terms of having access to high-quality healthcare, women have been underrepresented. But with the development of technology and the ease of access to the internet, it is now simpler to inform women about the importance of managing their diabetes. It's time to give them the tools they need to express their worries and reach their full health potential.

Symptoms of Diabetes in Women:

Women and men with diabetes may experience many of the same symptoms.

However, some symptoms are unique to women. They are:

  • Candida infections
  • UTI
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Weight loss
  • Nausea
  • Fatigue

How Can Women Prevent And Reverse Diabetes?

  • Exercise Regularly

Exercise frequently to keep your blood sugar levels within the recommended range. It also helps you maintain a healthy body weight and reduces tension, and blood sugar management and lessens your risk of getting heart disease. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous aerobic activity per week, which should include at least 30 minutes of brisk walking, swimming, biking, or jogging.

  • Eat The Right Food

Plants supply your nutrition with vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates, which are the sources of energy for your body. Roughage and bulk are other terms for dietary fibre, which is the portion of plant foods that your body cannot process or absorb.

Food items high in fibre encourage weight loss and reduce the chance of diabetes. Consume a range of wholesome, high-fibre foods, such as:
fruits from branches, like tomatoes, peppers, and other berries, non-starchy veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, and leafy greens, beans, chickpeas, and lentils.

  • Sleep Properly

If you want to reverse Type 2 diabetes, you need to get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can cause a rise in the appetite hormone ghrelin, which can then make you feel more hungry. As a result, you might tend to consume more food, especially at night. Whenever it happens, we consume more sweets, thereby increasing our blood sugar levels.

  • Self-Care and Self-Control

Both are essential aspects of diabetes reversal. You should exercise restraint when it comes to selecting sensible daily actions for managing your diabetes. Self-care on the other hand involves keeping a close check on your chronic condition and making sure that you monitor your sugar levels on a regular basis. You can adjust your food and lifestyle appropriately once you are aware of your sugar levels.

  • Reduce Stress

Your sugar levels may be immediately impacted by your stress and anxiety. Try to reduce your stress levels even though it is impossible to completely eliminate tension from your life.
