Intermittent Fasting: Know What & When To Eat To End An Intermittent Fast

After doing a 16-hour intermittent fast, one should eat something which would provide nutrition to the body while also encourage weight loss.

New Delhi: After doing a 16-hour intermittent fast, you should consume something which would multiply the benefits of fasting. It is also important to clear a misconception some people have that, after the first 8 hours of the 16 hours fast, you can eat anything you want and it won't impact your body. This is a complete misconception.

If you really want to take advantage of 16 hours of fasting and get rid of various illnesses, you should only eat only healthy foods at this time of the fast. You need to be extra conscious of your diet, at least for the first three hours of the fast. After that, you could consume some things, but in the right quantity.

Importance To Fruits and Vegetables:

There will be a lot of benefits if you stay on a wholesome diet during intermittent fasting. You should consume a high amount of fruits and vegetables at this time.

It is recommended to reduce the amount of gluten consumption by increasing the number of vegetables, fruits, coconut milk, fresh coconut, dried fruits, etc. in your diet.

You should consume more inexpensive and easily available seasonal fruits. If possible, try consuming gluten-rich foods like cereals only once a day. You should have vegetarian food made with low amounts of oil, spices, and chilies.

Consume Coconut Water

It is very important to keep yourself hydrated during intermittent fasting. So, in addition to drinking plenty of water during the day, you should also consume coconut water whenever possible.

Starting your day with coconut water could be really beneficial to your health. In addition, you could also consume vegetable juices. During intermittent fasting, it is recommended to consume fruits and vegetables which have high water content, such as bottle gourd, cucumber, tomatoes, oranges, mandarins, and pineapples.

If you have a sweet tooth, have a date or prunes. Stay away from processed foods while you fast, as they may impact your health negatively.

Also, don't forget to stay away from quick ready to eat food, as they contain a high amount of preservatives. The more natural food you eat, the more successful your fast would be.
