Dum Paneer Recipe: The festival of Diwali is almost here. Everyone prepares new dishes and delicacies for the occasion. While the table is packed with multiple cuisines, some people have a special preference for paneer.
People who like different kinds of paneer cuisines can prepare this delicious paneer dish at home. This aromatic and mouth-watering dish is called ‘Dum Paneer’. This dish is commonly found on the menu of any Punjabi Dhaba and restaurant. Here is the Dum Paneer recipe.
Ingredients For Making Dum Paneer
1 tsp oil, 4 pieces cloves, 4 pieces green cardamom, one-inch cinnamon stick, a roasted paste of 1 onion, 1 tsp ginger paste, 1 tsp garlic paste, 4 green chilli paste, 3 tsp yoghurt, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp black pepper powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp cream, 1/4 tsp paprika chilli, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp garam masala powder, 250 g paneer, fresh coriander leaves and mint for garnishing.
Dum Paneer Recipe
Step 1: To make Dum Paneer, first heat oil in a pan. Add cloves, cardamom and cinnamon and fry till it starts giving an aroma.
Step 2: Add onion paste and cook it for a while. After that, add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste and fry the mixture. Add curd in the mixture.
Step 3: Then add coriander powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt to the pan. Stir them well and again add curd.
Step 4: After the mixture has cooked for a while, add half a cup of water with paneer and cream.
Step 5: Cover the pan with foil paper and place a lid on top of it. Cook on a low flame for about 15 minutes.
Step 6: Finally, garnish it with fresh coriander and mint leaves and serve.
