Bengaluru: Woman Groped In Crowded Metro, Friend Shares Harrowing Ordeal
In a post on Reddit, the person said other passengers on the metro remained mute spectators and ignored the woman's screams for help.
Another incident of sexual harassment in a Namma Metro train in Bengaluru has surfaced after a person shared a traumatic event of her friend who was groped by a man in an overcrowded train. The woman's friend shared the ordeal on Reddit, and the post has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage.
In the post, the person, who used the username "proteincarbs", said other passengers remained mute spectators and ignored the woman's screams for help. The incident took place on Monday at around 8.50 am at the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda station in Majestic.
"Around 8:50 am at Majetic, the metro was extremely overcrowded, much more than usual, with a lot of pushing. Even the lady responsible for managing passenger flow let an unusually large number of people into the train at once," the user wrote on Reddit.
The woman soon realised a man wearing a red shirt, standing behind her, was touching and grabbing her from the back. "She could literally feel his hands," ther post stated.
"My friend didn't initially realise what was happening. The moment she turned around, the man literally sprinted away," the user recounted. Following this, the woman started screaming but no one came to her help. The user mentioned that woman was left traumatised by the incident.

The person sought guidance from other users on how to tackle such situations. "Can someone please guide me on how to do this? Are there CCTV cameras inside the metro or at the station? Where can I access the footage? Please help me," the post said.
"Hi, I work in this organisation. If you file a complaint action will be taken because Metro is fully under CCTV surveillance and tweet the complaint by tagging @cpronammametro. Next anyone faces this just contact the station manager he will provide how action can be taken," a user commented on the post.
The Bengaluru Metro Corporation Limited (BMRCL) told IANS that they had not received any complaint regarding the incident.
In September, a college student had complained about a similar case of sexual harassment during her journey in the metro.
