'Salahudeen's son's NIA custody will prove 'disgruntled' politicians wrong'

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India] October 26 (ANI): A day after a Delhi court sent Hizb-ul-Mujahideen chief Syed Salahudeen's son, Syed Shahid Yousuf, to seven days National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody, Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday said the move will prove those "disgruntled" politicians wrong who were trying to set Kashmir-centric political agenda.

"This vindicates the kind of action taken by the NIA which is an independent body and government cannot interfere in their working pattern. Some disgruntled politicians were trying to set a Kashmir-centric agenda through Twitter and I think this is sufficient to prove them wrong," the Union Minister told ANI.

He further said that it will silence one of those vested voices which have started emanating after the government has appointed Dineshwar Sharma as the representative of the 'sustained dialogue'.

Earlier on Wednesday, a Delhi court sent Syed Shahid Yousuf, son of Syed Salahudeen, the chief of the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, to seven days NIA custody.

Shahid Yousuf was arrested on Tuesday pertaining to the terror financing of Hizb-ul- Mujahideen. (ANI)
