Rahul's campaign won't help him win Gujarat elections: Subramanian Swamy

New Delhi [India], September 25 (ANI): Rahul's campaign won't help him win whatsoever, said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Monday.

Swamy, while talking to ANI about the Congress vice-president kick-starting poll campaign in Gujarat from today, said, "Rahul Gandhi can campaign wherever he likes, it makes no difference," adding that due to the latter's campaign, the grand old party will lose "whatever little votes the Congress may be getting".

"I am quite confident that we (BJP) will win in Gujarat," Swamy said.

Rahul Gandhi will begin a three-day Gujarat campaign from Monday.

He will start his campaign from the Saurashtra region, a Patidar community.

Ironically, the region has been a bastion of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for almost three decades.

Earlier, Congress spokesperson Shaktisinh Gohil, in a press conference, said that Rahul Gandhi's visit in Gujarat will begin from Lord Krishna Darshan that is from Dwarka.

"Gujarat people want to meet him and they are very much eager to listen to him as he is very honest and true leader," he said while addressing the media.

The much awaited assembly elections in Gujarat will be held towards the end of 2017 or January, 2018. The dates will be announced officially by the Election Commission few months prior to it.(ANI)
